FAQ

1. What should I expect during my first appointment ?

After looking at your medical documents, your physiotherapist will carry out an initial evaluation. This will allow for better understanding of your condition and better treatment planning.

Different measurements and movements will be performed so it's important to dress appropriately. For the first session and for all other sessions with your physiotherapist, we advise you to wear very comfortable clothes (shorts, tights, leggings, t-shirt or sports outfit) or to bring a change of clothes with you.

Please prepare all the necessary documents for your first physiotherapy session: your medical prescription, your carte vitale, and results of previous medical exams.

2. Can I book an appointment without a medical prescription?

A medical prescription is necessary if you want to claim from the French Social Security and your mutuelle

If you do not need to claim anything from your Social Security or your private insurance, you do not need to present a medical prescription.

3. How long is one physiotherapy session?

The French Social Security reimburses 30 minutes, but this can be adapted to your case. You can also request a longer appointment time.

4. How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

In France, doctors sometimes indicate the number of sessions to be done. In this case, this will be the initial number of appointments to be performed. If you need more sessions, your physiotherapist will conduct a reevaluation and refer you back to your doctor to evaluate if the prescription can be renewed.

If there is no number of appointments indicated in your prescription, your physiotherapist will determine how long your rehabilitation will take. Talk to your physiotherapist during your first evaluation to find out more.

These rules do not apply if you are not claiming from the French Social Security.

5. Can I claim 100% of the amount paid ?

The French Social Security does not reimburse at 100%. It reimburses 60% of a predetermined rate (set for every condition). Your private insurance then reimburses a mandatory rate of 40% of the predetermined rate. Anything outside of this amount is to be paid out-of-pocket.

6. What method of payment do you accept?

If you have an appointment with Johanna or Lesley, you can either pay by card, check (French account only), or cash. Only Romain does not accept payments by card.

All treatments in clinic are to be paid out-of-pocket. You have to then claim from the Social Security or your mutue We do not work with private insurance companies directly.
